Our project was creating a very special stone bench in memory of one of the founding members of Montana Native Botanic Garden. We selected a top stone from Block Mountain in Plains, but it weighed about 1,400 lbs. and needed to be placed on a trail only 4 feet wide, much too narrow for other people's equipment.
Joe not only picked up the rock in Plains, but selected an ideally matched pedestal stone there, too. He then trimmed the stone so the two matched perfectly, neatly excavated a hole for the pedestal stone, patiently waited while we had a five person debate about which side of the stone should face forward, and then placed it perfectly. Everyone who has seen the stone bench has simply said "WOW!"
Our thanks to Joe and Blaine for a simply great job, done on time and on budget!!
